My project

When I finally made the decision to continue my schooling and become a Physician's Assistant (PA) I had to find a way to get patient exposure hours. I was given several suggestions, but in the end I decided that I wanted to become a CNA. I was originally supposed to take a CNA class in Cedar City but due to lack of students signing up the class was canceled, but thankfully Ridgeview CNA located in St. George, UT was still planning on having the class.

I signed up for the Saturday classes that they offered for 12 weeks from January 12, 2019 to the March 23, 2019. Each class was held from 8am until 4:30pm. In addition to the time we spent in class we were required to finish two 12 hour shifts at The Meadow an assistant living facility in St. George.

To help strengthen our confidence in the material that we were learning in the class we were required to finish the workbook that was given to us in the beginning of the class. Also, we had several open labs to help us practice the different CNA skills that we learned and talked about in class. One of the main responsibilities of a CNA is to take the vitals of the residents/patients that we work with, so to help get us more comfortable with taking someones blood pressure, pulse and respiration we had to take the vitals of 48 different people.
